Independence

BPMonitorLab operates independently. Advertisers and affiliate partners have no input into our editorial decisions. Product picks are based entirely on clinical criteria described below.

Medical Review Process

All clinical content is written by a registered nurse (RN) and reviewed by a licensed physician before publication. We cite primary sources (AHA guidelines, clinical trials, ValidateBP.org) for all accuracy claims. When guidelines update, we revise affected pages within 30 days.

Product Selection Criteria

• Validation: We only recommend devices listed on ValidateBP.org or with published AAMI/ESH validation data.
• Accuracy: Must meet the ±3 mmHg standard under independent testing.
• Cuff coverage: We note cuff size ranges and flag when extra-large cuffs are needed.
• App quality: We test iOS and Android apps for reliability, data export, and privacy policies.
• Accessibility: We note features relevant to seniors, people with tremors, or vision impairment.

Update Policy

Every page shows a "Last reviewed" date in the byline. We review pages when: new clinical validation data is published, a product is discontinued, a price changes by more than 20%, or AHA guidelines are updated. We aim to review all pages at least annually.

If you find a factual error, email editorial@bpmonitorlab.com. We investigate within 48 hours and correct errors with a visible correction notice.
